I don’t get the fascination with celebrity weddings, and I don’t understand why so many people have got to know, have got to see, and can’t get enough information. I suppose because we are exposed to celebrity life so much, we are curious enough, and perhaps it is the fault of the celebrity as much as it is anyone else. Not all celebrities are media hounds, but many of them put themselves out there, and then whine about privacy.

I don’t know who to blame, but I do know I find any mention of celebrity weddings to be quite annoying. It is their wedding day, and unless they have personally invited the press, it should remain a non-event. Those who hide in bushes and fly over in helicopters have some serious issues as far as I’m concerned. It feeds the frenzy, and it makes the celebrities seem even more of an issue. They are real people, and they deserve some privacy. I agree there is a price to pay for being in the public eye, but can’t we draw the line somewhere?

Another aspect of celebrity weddings that appeal to the public might the style. I can understand this, and I can understand wanting to have the most elegant wedding is popular. You have to find inspiration somewhere, and we don’t always know what to do. Celebrity weddings are often very stylish, and there is nothing wrong with wanting a little of that style for your own wedding. However if you copy celebrity weddings too much, you aren’t having your own wedding, you are having someone else’s wedding. You may regret that in the end.

If you have the cash, work with a wedding planner who has done celebrity weddings in the past, and let them know you want something similar, but you also want your own style included. Celebrity weddings are great, but they are tailored to the personality of that person, and that is the essence of anyone’s wedding. If you copy celebrity weddings to a T you are missing the entire point. Your day should reflect your style and your personality, and most of all, should reflect your new life together. If you have celebrity weddings copied for your own, it’s going to feel a little hollow and a little bit like you stumbled into a life other than your own. That’s not what you want for your wedding day memories.
